When first-time parents, Kayla and Austin, learned their son Beckett would be born with a rare congenital heart defect, a team of compassionate caregivers stood ready to save his life.

Kayla and Austin turned to a team of expert surgeons, cardiologists, nurses and other caregivers, who joined forces to provide the highly specialized care Beckett required when his heart was only the size of a walnut. More than 40 HCA Healthcare caregivers worked together to ensure Beckett received the multidisciplinary services—including three open heart surgeries—needed to save his life.
